Digital receipts: activation, settings, and warranty receipts

You receive digital receipts automatically in your receipt archive when you register your purchases with your S-Etukortti at S-markets, Prismas, and other S Group stores. You can activate paperless service and use digital warranty receipts.

What are digital receipts and how do they work?

You automatically receive digital receipts from purchases you register with your S-Etukortti. A digital receipt is a copy of the receipt you receive at checkout. It also fulfils the legal requirement to provide a receipt.

Receipts are saved to your receipt archive in under a minute. Even if your paper receipt gets lost, you have the digital version. Returns and warranty matters can be handled with the digital receipt.

Which purchases generate digital receipts?

You automatically receive digital checkout and warranty receipts from purchases you register with your S-Etukortti at these stores:

  • S-kaupat.fi

  • S-market

  • Prisma

  • Sale

  • Alepa

  • Food Market Herkku

  • Prisma Rauta

  • Sokos

  • Emotion

  • ABC

Note! You currently receive digital receipts only from physical stores in Finland and from S-kaupat.fi. Receipts from other S Group online stores are not yet added to your receipt archive.

Only purchase receipts are stored digitally. Vouchers for deposits or withdrawals made at checkout are not archived.

Where can I find my digital receipts?

You can find your receipts in two places:

Do I need to pay with my S-Etukortti to receive a digital receipt?

No, you don't. Receipts are added to your receipt archive from purchases paid with any payment method, including cash payments.

However, you must always scan your S-Etukortti at checkout when paying. Only then will your purchases be registered as bonus-eligible purchases and their receipts saved to your digital receipt archive.

What do paperless service and receipt archive mean?

Receipt archive: You receive your receipts automatically in your receipt archive. A paper receipt is also printed at checkout unless you have activated paperless service.

Paperless service: When you activate paperless service, paper receipts are no longer printed at checkout for your purchases. However, you can ask the checkout to print a receipt before you pay if you need it.

How do I activate paperless service?

You can stop receiving paper receipts if you have an S-Etukortti Visa card or a contactless S-Etukortti in S-mobiili.

Here's how:

  1. Activate paperless service in S-mobiili's Me section.

  2. Update the service to your S-Etukortti at the S-Etukortti terminal at the self-service point at your nearest S Group store.

  3. Insert your S-Etukortti Visa card into the terminal and press the F1 key. The self-service point has clear instructions.

I've stopped receiving paper receipts, but I'd like a paper receipt for a single purchase. What should I do?

Ask the checkout (or checkout attendant at self-service checkouts) to print a receipt before you pay. The receipt is also automatically saved to your receipt archive.

Can I forward a digital receipt from S-mobiili?

Yes, you can. You can send a checkout receipt by email or share it using your phone's apps (for example, iPhone's AirDrop).

You can also take a screenshot of the receipt and send the image forward.

Can I download receipt data in a machine-readable format?

Unfortunately, you can't. Digital receipts are stored as image copies in your receipt archive. You can't combine or organise receipt data.

You can order a purchase data report from S-Etukortti.fi. You'll receive data at product category level from your purchases stored in S Group's member and customer register.

What should I do if I can't find a receipt in my receipt archive?

Contact either the store where you made the purchase or member services.

Can I block digital receipts?

Yes, you can. On S-Etukortti.fi, you can disable the receipt archive completely or delete individual checkout receipts.

If you disable the receipt archive completely, your purchase and warranty receipts will no longer be saved. All receipts accumulated up to that point will also be permanently deleted. After this, you'll receive paper receipts at checkout, meaning any paperless service you had activated will stop.

Good to know:

  • The receipt archive is an integral part of the digital services offered to S Group co-op members. Activation of the archive is accepted when you accept the digital services terms and conditions.

  • A receipt saved to the receipt archive fulfils the legal requirement to provide a receipt.

  • The receipt archive is a way to store digitally the receipts that are automatically printed at checkout anyway.

  • Receipts are not saved to your device. You can only view them in your profile on S-mobiili and S-Etukortti.fi.

Are digital checkout receipts used for other purposes?

No. Checkout receipts are normal accounting material. The receipt archive contains only a digital copy of the checkout receipt.

Can my household members see my digital receipts?

No. Checkout and warranty receipts are personal. Each member of your household can only see receipts from purchases made with their own S-Etukortti.

How does a digital warranty receipt work in practice?

As a co-op member, you automatically receive warranty receipts in your digital receipt archive from purchases under warranty. You just need to register your purchases as bonus-eligible with your S-Etukortti.

Note! Digital warranty receipts are not yet accumulated from online stores or stores abroad.

Warranty receipt data is personal. You cannot see warranty receipts of other members in your household.

Will I keep my warranty receipts if I give up my co-op membership?

The receipt archive is a member benefit. Its use is tied to household membership.

If you give up your co-op membership or leave the household, your entitlement to member benefits ends. You'll lose access to the receipt archive.

Even if your access to the receipt archive ends, the warranty on products you've purchased remains normally valid until the end of the warranty period.
