Scam messages and security
Updated 2 months ago
Always check the message's links, language, and sender before responding. S Group never asks for money, passwords, or card details via email. Delete suspicious messages without clicking any links.
How do I recognise a scam message?
Consider these questions before responding to a message:
Does the offer sound too good to be true?
Are the writing style and grammar professional?
Does the content seem suspicious in any way?
If the message contains a link, check where it leads: hover your mouse pointer over the link (don't click). If the domain isn't related to the sender, it's likely a scam.
Scams are now also common on social media. Scammers create fake profiles in the names of companies and lure people to participate in false competitions or register on unfamiliar websites.
What should I do if I've received a scam message?
Delete the message or close it without clicking any links.
You can report scam messages to the National Cyber Security Centre: www.kyberturvallisuuskeskus.fi
If you were scammed and gave away information such as your credit card details:
Contact your bank or credit card company immediately
Block your card
Contact the consumer authority: www.kkv.fi
If you were targeted by an SMS scam, contact your phone operator.
